Imagine a greener Duluth…
That's the dream here at Greening Duluth: A vibrant, green community in the heart of a thriving metropolis. For us, green means conscious: conscious of our world, our impacts, our choices, consciously striving towards sustainability.
As far as we're concerned, Duluth is just a hop, skip and a jump away from becoming such a community. Cobblestoned, nestled in between two of the city's biggest parks, already uni-directional for its entire length, and enjoyed by pedestrians and cyclists, the street has a lot to offer and could be the centre of a green community revolution in Montreal.
We'd like to propel this change, and so we are working to raise the environmental consciousness of what's wrong and what's possible while creating a sense of community between the people that live, work and visit our street. At the House of Friendship, our local community centre, we are developing programs, implementing sustainability measures, organizing events, and initiating dialogue towards these ends. The project is completely run by volunteers at this time, though we are seeking grants and raising funds to help establish ourselves more permanently.
